John Hales is the Managing Director at Bregal Milestone, a leading technology growth capital firm with c. €1.2 billion of capital raised dedicated to investments in high-growth, market-defining technology companies. At CUBE, John provides guidance on executive recruitment, capital strategy, exit planning, and best practices for performance management and business analytics.
He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Cape Town with a degree in Business Science, which paved the way for a Rhodes Scholarship at Oxford University. Here John achieved two master’s degrees, including an MBA from Saïd Business School, specialising in Finance and Innovation, and graduating with distinction. John started his early career as an investment professional at Macquarie, Generation Investment, and Denham Capital.
At Bregal Milestone, John channels much of his expertise into financial technology, infrastructure, and security software, thriving at operating disruptive technologies affecting enterprises, regulatory drivers, and evolving market forces.
